Smoke & Fire: smoked meats and fried chicken

This southeast Las Vegas stop serves smoked barbecue, burgers, fried chicken, and substantial sides. Choose it when the return drive already continues toward the city.

Gregory's: mesquite grilling and prime rib

Gregory's Mesquite Grill at Eureka Casino Resort centers its menu on mesquite-grilled steaks, seafood, and prime rib. Choose it when the trip continues northeast to Mesquite rather than back to Las Vegas.

Katherine's: dry-aged steaks and tableside dishes

Katherine's Steakhouse at CasaBlanca Resort adds seafood, tableside preparations, and an extensive wine list. Its dining room recommends reservations for a more formal Mesquite dinner.

Buy the park picnic before the gate

Overton is the nearest town to the east entrance for groceries, ice, and a prepared breakfast or lunch. Salts covers breakfast or a quick town meal, but the park day still needs water and food packed before entry because there is no restaurant inside Valley of Fire.

Continue to Mesquite for Gregory's or Katherine's when the trip turns northeast. Choose Smoke & Fire when the Strip, airport, or south valley is already the next destination.
