The west entrance is closed Monday through Thursday through the end of 2026. Use State Route 169 from Overton or State Route 167 through Lake Mead on those days; check the current alert before departure.

Use the developed stairs and viewing area without touching the rock writing. If heat, wind, or crowding makes the stairs unsuitable, continue to the visitor center and roadside overlooks.

During the May 15–September 30 closure, skip Fire Wave/Seven Wonders and White Domes. Add Mouse's Tank or another short walk only when it appears on the park's current open list, and eat the packed lunch at a designated picnic area.

Salts serves American comfort food in Overton. Katherine's is a Mesquite-direction dinner; Las Vegas-bound visitors can choose southeast-valley barbecue.
